Deep groove rim
Deep groove rim This type of rim is integral, with a deep groove in the middle of its section. Mainly used in cars and light off-road vehicles. It has a shoulder flange for placing the tire bead. Its shoulder is usually slightly inclined to the middle, and its inclination angle is generally 4 to 6 degrees. The maximum diameter of the inclined part is called the landing between the tire bead and the rim.合diameter. A deep groove is made in the middle of the section to facilitate the disassembly and assembly of the tire. The deep grooved wheel vehicle has simple structure, high rigidity and small mass, which is most suitable for small-sized and more elastic tires. However, larger and harder tires are difficult to fit into such an integral rim.
Flat rim
There are many structural forms of this kind of rims. Figure 3 shows a form commonly used in trucks in my country. The retaining ring 1 is integral, and an open elastic lock ring 2 is used to prevent the retaining ring from falling out. When installing the tire, first put the tire on the rim, then put on the retaining ring, and push it inward until it crosses the annular groove on the rim, and then insert the open elastic lock ring into the annular groove.
Dongfeng EQ1090E and Jiefang CA1091 automobile wheels all use this form of rim.
Split rim
This kind of rim is composed of two parts, an inner and an outer part. As shown in Figure 4, the width of the inner and outer wheels can be equal or unequal, and the two are connected together by bolts. When disassembling the tire, disassemble the nut. The retaining ring 3 shown in Figure 4 is detachable. Some do not have a retaining ring, but a rim made integral with the inner rim replaces the role of the retaining ring, and the inner rim is welded to the spoke plate. Dongfeng EQ2080 and Yan'an SXZ15O automobile wheels adopt this form of rim.
Since the rim is the basis for the assembly and fixing of the tire, when the tire is installed on a different rim, its deformation position and size also change. Therefore, for each type of tire, it is best to use a specified standard rim, and if necessary, you can also use a rim with a size similar to that of the standard tire (allowable rim). If the rim is not selected properly, it will cause early damage to the tire, especially when used on a too narrow rim.
